All those positional ratings are based off of Montreal's roster...not the Jets unfortunately.

Jets say no.

Tatar: 25G 33A +21
Danault: 12G 41A +17
Petry: 13G 33A -5
Kulak: 6G 11A +12
Fleury Great Prospect RD
2 2nd round pick (one if them can become a 1st round )

FOR:

Laine: 30G 20A -24
Perreault: 15G 15A -1
I’m not a fan of statistics in any sports cz every player has a way to play in a team that he can do it in another but there is still a way to consider them.

I get the stats they put up, totally... but look at the Jets Top 6 forwards and D...where would anyone else we receive in this trade fit? We would be better off keeping Laine. and letting him build to 50 goals a year, on top of all the other weapons we have.

Not to mention that we have a solid bottom 6 core already in place and have room for our own young prospects to grow, who already show more promise.

Bryan Little Plays 2nd Line C = Danuault is better than him
Sami Niku plays 2nd RD = Petry better than him
Ehlers and Laine are 2nd line wingers = Tatar is probably top 9 then
Tucker Poolman plays 3rd LD = Kulak as good as him likely

So:
2nd line C
2nd pair RD
3rd line W who pots 25G
3rd pair LD

Throw in an A grade prospect and picks and thats already an overpayment.

Yh but if he decides to do a Puljujarvi move and go play in europe bcz he doesn’t want to play for the jets what do you do?? Mtl is IMO the only team that can give the value + the win now to Winnipeg. They also have the cap space to sign laine. MTL has alot of Players on their roster and will need to trade

#1: Little is not our future 2nd line centre, Roslovic is going to be better than Danault, he has not been able to play up high because of depth.
#2: Niku has not even played a full season and I would still take him over an over overrated Petry, who would not play in our top two pairings. Niku ceiling is miles higher.
#3: Saying Ehlers and Laine are 2nd line wingers is madness, just because they played their, does not mean they are. Nothing against Tatar, I actually like him as a player
#4: Poolman has not been able to crack the D yet because of the depth we had.

Don't mistake lineup positioning & amount of games played for a players evaluation & worth. It just means that we have more depth than your team and players who are not able to play on our roster, certainly could on yours. Just because they play somewhere on your team, does not mean they would slot in their on ours.

There is simply no incentive other than the draft picks from that trade for us as we already have everything else currently within our system.

The only way the trade works is if you offer something of direct equal value (in quality, not quantity) or offer us something we do not already have, which Montreal cannot do at this time.

Simple

The only players of value that would even interest the Jets are Domi or Drouin, and there would still be more going the Jets' way. Knowing that they are likely untouchables, what else is there but quantity?

-Kulak IMO can easily be replaced by Reilly or Gardiner(don’t know if he can fit in the cap space)
-Danault will not be resigned and can be replaced. Kotkaniemi Poehling Suzuki are the future Center for MTL. Suzuki IMO will play this year RW and Perrault will play 3rd Center
-Tatar will be replaced by Laine
-Petry is the problem for MTL if they don’t find a replacement for next year bcz Juulsen and Brook are way too young to be Top4 def (Ristolainen maybe or Alec Martinez)
-Fleury is a great prospect but i think we can find him a replacement later Juulsen and Brook can be the future of the team

We aren't wild, just don't understand when people think they can offload anything but pieces of value and trade for a quality piece. We aren't a team looking for quantity as I have said.

I would happily switch Tatar for Drouin if you think Drouin is better than Tatar

Dude, this is a couple nickels, a few pennies and maybe 1 quarter for a dollar.

So I like Tatar, Petry and Danault but all three of them have 2 years of term then are UFA'S and it's highly doubtful they'll sign in Winnipeg and with the ages of Tatar and Petry and even Danault is it even worth it to resign them, probably not, maybe Danault but definitely not Petry and probably not Tatar and I'm a huge Tatar fan.
Fleury is an okay B prospect but nothing special, every team has those and Kulak is a top 6 D as you say which are a dime a dozen so sorry if neither of those pieces get me all that excited and the picks are picks, not even one 1st rounder.

Would you be happy if the Habs traded Kotkaniemi and Byron for some this same package? Not likely, sorry but this trade has very little value after two seasons for the Jets, for a guy with Laine's abilities I'd want at least one piece back thats almost a guarantee to provide some long term value, this trade doesn't provide that.
