And yet 5th in goals, 3rd in points, 3rd in ppg, 7th in gpg...you know the main stats everyone looks at and Marner and Stone aren't ahead of Kane. Marner isn't even close in a couple of the categories. Again, is Ovy not the best generational talent in the league? Do you know where a lot of his goals come from?

Guys who can capitalize on the powerplay are worth a ton for a reason. Looking at stats and ignoring the PP as part of the game is just ignorance.

All these forwards have great attributes. To call any of them overrated is just silly.
Stone - best two way player
Marner - highest hockey IQ, greatest passer
Ovy - strongest shot and physical
Kane - best stick handling and most elusive
McDavid - fastest and best all around

I wouldn’t call Tarasenko overrated. I think the thing with him is that his breakout season was so absurdly good and people thought he could be a top~10 or so player but he’s never been close to that good since. I would say he’s overrated as a goal-scorer but he’s still as good a hockey player as people say.

If a guy is consistently among the leaders in the league in both goals and points, I think you can draw some conclusions from that. Name one non-elite player that has scored 50 goals / 105 points in a season over the past 20 years.

Even if you look at the past 3 years, Draisaitl is 7th in the league for points and 12th for goals. He's 11th in P/GP in that span.

Hard to argue that Price is overrated. He's kept his franchise afloat for over a decade and is still going strong
