Yeah except I have no firsts the next two years afterwards!
Is the value pretty good?

The value is off on the Detroit deal is off in my opinion but might work next season. Detroit isn't going to be good this season and they know it so do the fans so realistically no reason for Detroit to move them this season. Now next season with prospects getting ready to make the jump moving those guys out will be more urgent.

Most deal values are off. For example, JoMo is worth at least 2 firsts

These deals would all be done after the draft lottery and either before or at the draft, so that would align with your time frame.
And how far off? What would be added?

Well at least he's getting pick ten. I thought about adding something but I didn't want to look biased and if I changed it now it would mess up the alphabetical order of the teams.
You think we lose most trades though? Or is the Morrisey example an outlier?

I mean it depends on your view of Ghost. With the rumors earlier this summer I thought it was pretty good, if I did this last summer I probably would've removed Ratcliffe and gave Philly a second or something. Plus in this scenario the first would be late.

You'd have to trade a lot more to teams like Ottawa, LA, and Detroit who are likely to all have top 5 overall picks.

The values are reasonable, if you did any three to five of these. After that, GMs start noticing the scarcity of first round picks, and raising the price to acquire one. Division rivals especially start to fear your impending dynasty and won't even think about it. Plus, there are some teams each year that just won't trade their first round pick, and others who won't trade it unless there's something they specifically need, down the stretch, that they feel gives them a much bigger shot at a championship. So this is functionally impossible. Storied teams that burn everything to the ground for picks typically come away with three, maybe five first round picks. They may get value back that's worth much more than that, in terms of decent prospects and younger players.

As for whether it's a good idea? No. FIrst round picks are usually given lots of extra chances to succeed. A team with thirty-one of them and 23 spots can't give everybody sheltered minutes.

Look at what they got for Trouba. No way Morrissey alone is worth 2 1sts.

Most of these are actually somewhat close. I was prepared to get a laugh at them being lopsided but most aren't that bad.

Probably mid-to-late. Philly is a playoff team IMO but it's debatable. Connor is really good but Ratcliffe is a really good prospect last i checked, Ghost is probably a #3 d-man with top pairing potential and that's also a 1st rounder, all for Kyle Connor.

Great insight!
I was just going for the value in a vacuum every time, if I factored in what you're saying I would've run out of assets.

That's an outlier, not the rule. It was well documented that Trouba wanted to play in the US and has for quite some time. Chevy lost a ton of leverage because of that and ended up trading him for a huge lowball. It's rumored that Pittsburgh had a better offer but Chevy would let them talk with Overhart prior to the trade, so they revoked their bid.
Morrisey by all accounts wants to stay long term. Different ball game.

Trouba didn’t get full value because everyone knew he was only signing in New York. JoMo however is the same player but has more control and will probably be willing to sign anywhere

The Trouba trade can’t be used as a comparable because Trouba forced the jets’ hand in ways most players cant

Yeah, it did. I was a little worried I wouldn't have enough pieces of value to trade for every pick, and then I'd have spent all that time for nothing. I forgot I had Kyle Connor until the Philly trade, and then only remembered Samberg when I got to Saint Louis. And I still ended up having to use my '21 and '22 firsts.
