Detroit passes. Coburn and Rutta are too old to fit in to Detroit's rebuild, so they are nothing more than a cap dump. Then TB wants Howard and Green with half of their salary retained. I'm sorry but there is absolutely NO reason for Detroit to do this. Tampa's 1st will most likely be one of the last 4 picks in the first round basically a 2nd rd pick. Colorado could go far into the playoffs so that pick will most likely be toward the end of the round. Giving Detroit no reason to do this.

-1st it’s a Vancouver pick.
-2nd it’s can be done on TDL bcz Detroit is not getting to the playoffs so why keep Green and Howard
-3rd Rutta is an expiring contract and Coburn is a great veteran for the younger players in Detroit+ he can be flipped or trade Nemeth

Green is better than Schenn, but at different stuff. A good backup goalie is valuable for keeping a starting goalie rested. Howard might be overdoing it?

The Lightning obviously have a very good team, and the odds are much better than four coin-tosses all coming up heads, whether they win a championship each year. If there's anything they're missing as far as the playoffs go, that might or might not be available, I mean, I think they should make an offer on Kuznetsov. Or maybe I have that backwards. I think they should offer Point, for Kuznetsov, plus some junk, so they can show they won the trade based on regular-season metrics, while still ending up with one of three active guys with a 30 point postseason, while his value might be a little low. No idea what the Caps might throw in, that could make a difference to the above team, though. Maybe a 2nd and a 5th? I don't know. Not a lot, because Kuznetsov put up 32 points in 24 games in the 2018 playoffs, and that's how the Caps won the Stanley Cup.

it is Vancouver's pick I was wrong. But it still makes no sense to take on 34yr old and a 29yr old who will basically just take time from prospects that need NHL ice time. So bringing in those 2 will end up hurting Detroit more than it helps. I can see Green and maybe even Howard being traded but not for what is offered here. If I offer you Abdelkader and Helm for Cernak and Palat what would you say? While its not exactly the same but it is just as ridiculous as what you have proposed.
