Why trade Karlsson if we aren’t going to use the new cap space?

And ottawa is in rebuilt so unless there a piece that coming back with karlson why would they acquire a late 20’s four line players.

I wasn't gonna use him on the team, so I figured I wound just trade him for a pick and now we have cap space for a move later on
