Why would Boston do this? This line-up gets bounced round 1
...assuming they make it to the playoffs

Bruins would have no interest in making Marner the second highest paid player in the league.
Doubt if Backes has any interest in leaving Boston....especially to Ottawa to bought out or shipped to an a non existent team.

I'm not trading that for Marner. (I'm not even trading for Marner because it's too hard to do it without drastically changing the team)

omg and you give up a top6 player to OTT............

Team needs Mac way more than it needs Marner.

Backes should be moved but for the right price or its a distraction from the main deal .
Backes , Forsbacka-Karlsson and a conditional 2nd in 2021 that's returned if either player hits 30 + points by the 2021 draft.

MTL would gladly take the deal to leave JFK in SHL to develop using Backes as a 4th line Center upgrade on Thompson /Weal atleast 2/4 years he's got term.

CBJ, NJD and MIN are all teams in a position to take this deal as they have the cap and could use Backes short term or retain flip him if the payouts JFK and a 2nd.
No need in giving up two 2nds and a top 6 player to a team to take a cap dump is a bit high to a team who couldnt really use Backes when you could pay less to fringe teams who look at this as a low risk gamble to help their bottom 6 bulk faceoffs and grit edge playing style if nothing else .

Mcavoy, Studnicka, Heinen, two seconds, and a 2020 first for Marner...hard no.

I don’t even give mcavoy for Marner straight up.

well, now you're just triggered because of the domi thing that I said (which is true)...

Heinen also had 47 pts the season before and is a good two-way forward. But you don't know him/neither watch the Bruins so stay with your clowns who have about 7 3rd liners lol

So a 34 players in boston is better than a 72 player in Montreal. ?? since he add 34 point last season he is with your analysis a one hit wonder. So is 47 was nothing bit luck and there no chance he reach that another year. It’s funny when its your players that being pushed under the bus its another story.

I’d do it if Stud was replaced by Frederic or Zboril. Or if Mac was replaced by Carlo. But I think Stud and Mac are too much even for an elite forward like Marner.

I mean in fairness, Domi's PPG his first 3 years had him at a 50 point pace. To see a roughly 45% increase in production in 1 season should make people temper expectations. Maybe he finally broke through, and he'll he a consistent 70+ winger, idk. but he could also could have just had a career year.

Heinen has 2 years of work to look at and his production dropped his sophomore year...which isn't uncommon for players.

Its not about just point since putting 50 point in arizona was a great accomplishment. I mesn in the 3 years he past in arizona only three forward add more then 20 goal and only one have more then 25. And i am not assuming domi will reach 72 years after years but he is more a 65-70 point then a 50 point players. I means look what marner did this year with a players like tavares a 25 point increase. Drop him this year with kerfoot and another third line player ill drop back to 65-70 point.

hell no. if you're trading studnicka, AND McAvoy, AND a first in a three way trade you better get a 22 year old freaking wayne gretzky.
