idk about 1st trade
Why acquire Ristolainen for a young (potential) top6 player... +They have Makar, Johnson right now and Timmins/Meloche as well.
CHI probably decline; they have enough forwards
WSH same; no cap space

the last 2 can go anywhere

Colorado has tons of cap space and just imported Kadri, Burakovsky and Donskoi as well. Ristolainen is also just 24.

That doesnt really answer the question, jost is 21, hes saying why trade him for a player they dont really have a need for..

Also having cap space doesnt mean you take on bad contracts when you're a contender

Risto isnt a bad contract...also allows the young guys to settle in. Makar has zero regular season games

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense if you watched him in the playoffs...

Risto is a bad contract in the sense that he'd be a 6th dman making 5.4 for 3 more years and is an offensive defenseman as buffalo fans call him a defensive liability. He gets in the way of a timmins or meloche who can be ready to step into the bigs.

Just makes no sense to add him to the roster
