We have a center for Laine

Created by: arafay
Team: 2019-20 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 2, 2019
Published: Sep. 2, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
It’s Andrew copp
He positively affects possession with him (that’s a first) and drove the line when he played with Laine. He also complemented Laine perfectly. Not to mention that he outscored little during the 2nd half. 25pts in 40 games in the 2nd half and 5 points in 6 playoff games isn’t a fluke. He was one of the jets’ few positives during the 2nd half. Good contract too. Long term the job is still roslovic’s but he isn’t ready imo. Copp is the temporary solution.

On a different note, it hurst to split of roslovic and copp but roslovic and little had decent chemistry and this line has had success together before

Connor and Laine play great together imo so I’m doing that. Ehlers at his best works better on the top line than Connor imo but he needs to be consistent.

Lost the ability to have 23 players but still have perreault.

I’m curious where the numbers after 7.2 on Connors contract comes from? Did you just smash your face on your phone or was there logic behind it?

I think roslovic will have a real shot at the job on 2 nd line. He have been drafted for that spot and add quite good number with the ice time and partner he was given. If he can fill that spot i think the Jets will likely look on the market since its a real problem for them.

Like the trade, hesitation about Laine's 8 year deal. I think there is going to be a good battle for that 2C postion. Copp, Rosco, Little and heck even Lowry could all come to camp hungry for the spot.

285714 are the repeating digits of a number divided by 7. in this case the total contract value is $51M over 7 years which is 7.285714M per year

Got it. Makes sense. When I do AGMs I usually just use round numbers.

Lots of logic. That's almost exactly what he's worth, at least according to Evolving Hockey.

Laine is being overpaid here.

Maurice imo. We aren’t taking about splitting 55 and 26 so wheeler doesn’t probably care as much. Copp with Laine should be tried

I'd like to see a line of: Laine-Copp-Wheeler

It’s happwned before (like in between line changes) and had great success. However, 55 and 26 are one of the best duos in the game so splitting them doesn’t make sense and I doubt either wants to be split. Especially if copp works
