Could Marner accept this? Also, never underestimate the stupidity of Holland.

If he would, I think he'd already be signed.

Sigh. It might just not be possible to keep Marner and Gardiner, then. Especially if they do not find a destination for Ceci.

Oh whoops! Can't believe I forgot. Yzerman would never be this stupid, so let's see where a better destination for Ceci would be. Any ideas?

Yep, I think Gardiner is as good as gone, especially with Rielly, Muzzin, and Dermott all playing LD with Sandin looking like a very good prospect that could join in 1-2 years.

Ottawa would be great. I am 100% for the idea of DJ smith having a top 4 of hainsey, zaitsev, ceci and hopefully harpur as well. It would so sad seeing chabot play at minutes a night though. I feel like Detroit, Minnesota, Edmonton, Columbus or Colorado if Toronto added something else would all be options

    Dermott is an LHRD.
Play muzzin and Dermott as the shut down pair, rielly with Barrie as the offense pair and Gardiner and liljegren together in a role that allows liljegren to be sheltered.
Time on ice would be reletivly even between the pairs.

Whether we can fit that all together under the cap is the real question (some combo of move Ceci and bridging marner).

It's not possible. Dubas spoke highly of Ceci when they got him (on July 1st), I think he wants to keep Ceci around for now. Leaf fans should forget about Gards, it just won't happen.
