"might be an overpayment" lol...You can't be serious. Those picks will be late ones and Bellows is now a B prospect. Domi is a 70pts + guy who brings passion and skills to our team. He loves playing here and we love him here... Not a chance a trade like this happens. Domi is staying in MTL for the next 10 years

he's had one 70+ pts season, otherwise he was around 45. Max 60 if not 50 next year

How will you afford Domi and your rfa's next season?

Will be difficult enough to sign Barzal, Pulock, etc without adding someone like Domi.

I think that's close but it's kind of not enough either, can't see the Habs trading Domi for that.

All be honest, I'd temper expectations lol. He was a 50 point guy his first 3 years in the league and then jumped to 70+ points. That's quite a big leap in production for most players. Not saying he can't put up 70+ again, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him come back down around the 60 points range next year.

*EDIT - I'd add that his shooting% jumped nearly 60% last year compared to his first 3 years. Is that something that he can sustain? time will tell.

I don’t know. I wouldn’t bet either way because it’s hard to tell. You’re both so sure he’s going to land either way as far as production, but it’s hard to say.

This website needs to have a feature where you can bet on things like this. Bet 10 points on Domi with a 70 over/under. Then it will pay out either when he hits 70 or when the season ends. Either way, it is a good way to hold people accountable for their cocksure predictions, and we all know everyone is full of them here.

So basically you’re saying you have no idea what potential is or that players grow and get better as their careers progress??
Marchand was a career 50 point guy for years before finding his scoring touch ... some players like domi find it at a younger age 65+ points for domi this year

Marchand was a 60-point guy and solid defensive winger. Then he just kept on going and having better results. But you can't compare Domi to Marchand

Domi is just like W. Karlsson. He won't keep it up, just wait wink

Domi just finished his 6th season since his draft, so at this point Domi has had a better career than Marchand had.

he still won't

you don't need to explain that, it's obvious

Not saying Domi will hit 70 again, just pointing out that at this point in his career he is ahead of Marchand, who is being used as a comparable in this thread.
Also, here is my breakdown of Domi being compared to William Karlsson, in reference to his drop off after a career year (its taken from a previous thread so it's a bit clunky).
More than double his career high from before his breakout. I very much doubt Domi more than doubles his previous high from before last season of 52pts but it's nice to make bold predictions.
Assuming you meant he regressed from his new career high, he was still closer to that than his old one, about 9.2% of the average of the 2, which would put Domi, assuming we are doing a direct comparison, at around the 67-68 point mark.
Personally I think he settles around the 60 point mark, maybe hits 65 a few times, possibly even pushes 70 again before the end of his career
