Description

I really like the lines this creates at Fwd. of course the D would be a little precarious...but if Persson plays well with Klefbom in camp this could be alright.

Mtl fans please let me know what you think. This gives you 1.5 mil more space to go after an RFA, and about 2.5 mil if you send Gagner down (although he is a useful bottom 6 F).

Perhaps there is no need for a 3rd to be coming back to Edm, idk, what do I know lol.

Edm never trades their 1st rounder. It's too risky and quite honestly the oilers aren't a Tomas Tatar away from a playoff berth. Don't see any reason why they get rid of a top 15 pick (most likely)

Which is why I think he chose a 2021 first round pick.

I think Gagner makes the deal messy for the habs if the goal is to gain cap space. I think he is a no.

A couple questions?

1. What about Lavoie for the Habs instead of Puljujarvi?

2. I know Benning is included to even out the cap, but the habs are loaded with defenseman like him, would the Oilers want a depth D in return? Folin?

Gags would have to be included and Manning (slated for burial) would work for the Oilers on that front.

1. No.

2. Benning has value, he isn't just included for cap purposes. The Habs may not need him, but he does have some value.

If edmonton is in the hunt and Montreal are seller this could actually work for both side. Montreal have space to take gagner and bennings send them to ahl or try too ship them back for late pick. Just change the first round pick and make it a protected 2020 top ten

I think the value is there but I could only see them shipping Tatar away if they knew it was a lost season. Like if they came out of the gate 5-15-5 this year or something.

If the pick is not lottery protected, I think Habs have to take that if the above case is happening.
