Brodie 29 is almost to old to fit into Detroit's rebuild. He has 1 season left on his contract, do you really think he will resign in Detroit? Very unlikely because at 29 I think he will be looking to go to a contender. Dubé was the number 2 Calgary at the end of the season prospect rankings and after the draft he is now 6th. While I do think he will be a good player but Detroit will be looking for defense not another center. (look at Detroit's roster just about every forward has center listed as a position) Take out Brodie put Välimäki in his place and then I take the deal.

Valimaki is untouchable for the 2000th time. My thinking behind Brodie though was that he is a whole lot better than Risto so I'd imagine this would better than the proposed BUF offer.

Detroit's not trading a soon to be 25 year old Mantha for a 29 year old Brodie, We don't need Brodie rather keep Mantha he'll cost far more then what you're offering that's for sure.

Ristolainen to Detroit rumors, Only make sense if Mike Greens career is possibly in jeopardy due to his liver ailment. That's the only way I see this deal possibly going down.

Is Valimaki as untouchable as Mantha?

Detroit doesn't want Risto! That was a rumor started by Eklund and he is almost never right. I do agree that Brodie would be a better choice defensively than Risto. Detroit could also AA back to D and get similar results to having Risto playing D for them.
