Does Connor sign close to Keller

Created by: tsyls
Team: 2019-20 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 4, 2019
Published: Sep. 4, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Would just like some opinions, there production is close.

Keller has 117 points in 167 and Connor has 128 points in 178 games.

I know Connor has had more productive years in regards to goal-scoring, that's why I added the extra $$$. He probably is closer to 7.5 if its even a close comparable.

tbh jets should give Markov a chance and sign him to a pto

The potential for his production and possible earnings begets a deal shorter in term. The issue isn't the dollars paid to the player, it's the term. An eight year deal probably figures in above $9M because he and his agent can see where his statline and value to the Jets could be in a matter of a few short years. If he's going to pass on his chance for another big pay raise in a few years, there would need to be compensation now for it.

Something around $7M and 5 years is probably close.

Remember one is playing in Arizona where there is no taxes and Winnipeg has Canada's r@pe based tax structure.

Lol. I think that’s sales tax you’re referring to. He means income tax.

LoL yes income tax, I'm not sure about Manitoba but in Ont. we are taxed at around 52% if you make over 250k. A good accountant will get that to around 15-20% but still drastically higher. * just looked up Manitoba combined Federal and Provincial tax for income over 210K is 50.1%

Nah. More like 44.35% and Winnipeg’s taxes are at 50.11%

Kyle Connor isn't worth $7M if he's only signing for 5 years, he's just not.

That Keller contract is gonna be great value in no time, Chayka did well with that one.
Hopefully Chevy can get something similar done with Connor.

Clearly Arizona wanted none of this RFA bull****, I hope Chevy gets something like this done with Connor and then extend morrissey.

Hopefully, is moving Perreault by next summer enough money/cap freed up to pay those three or does someone else need to go?

I’d make a post about it but I’m not sure what their contracts are gonna be like, if cap goes up to 83.5 m, just with the rise, plus kulikov Perreault morrissey and everyone else’s contracts coming off the books, the jets will have around 18m to get everyone signed. I think they’ll be able to do it if they move Perreault.

But with that 18m they’ll need to get everyone that they want back signed.

IMO they keep comrie and he takes the backup spot next year.

Does Comrie clear waivers? Idk if he does
Imo if moving Perreault isn't enough they should just trade Lowry but they're in love with him so can't see that happening.

He’ll be down with the Moose all year, and I think he would have a chance to clear waivers. And yeah Lowry would never be traded, he’s like little, management loves him.
