Gotta get away from Bouwmeester-Parayko. It worked bc anyone works with Parayko. I'd love to see Dunn-Pietrangelo and Gunnarsson/Edmundson-Parayko

Gunn-Pietrangelo
Dunn-Parayko

At least conceptually they can build two top-10 defense pairs in the league. Gunnarsson’s defensive ability complements Pietrangelo’s offense so well and then obviously Dunn and Parayko should kill it. I cringe thinking about a Bouw-Bortz 3rd pair.

Maybe it could be Bouw-Eddy, not much better tho. Only need them for 12 min per night.

I want to see Dunn-Parayko for good balance but at the same time I like to see Parayko vs the other team's top line, and I'm not sure if that's what Dunn is best suited for. I think his defensive game is underrated from being sheltered so much, but I'd still rather use him as a matchup threat and roll Parayko's pairing in the Dzone.

Right, I definitely think you want to hard match Parayko and a defensive partner against top lines in the playoffs and in important games, but in the regular season you can probably just roll your top-4 and crush teams possession wise. I just loved what the Bruins had this year with the contrast of Chara/Carlo’s defense with Mcavoy/Krug’s defense. I also hope Gunnarsson stays healthy and plays a full year because he’s been so damn good the last two seasons.

the only problem is Edmundson got paid way to much to ride the bench and when he played he wasn't much help on offense or defence

Agreed he really needs to bounce back. He used to work really well with Pietrangelo but last season was rough for him.
