His big pay day was last year. College UFAs have mixed results in the NHL but he was a 'free' asset that Vegas added to their system and he could be a steal for them. No idea why it took this long to sign him for that price but he'll be in camp so all good

To answer the question on what took so long......it's called the back burner. He was the least of their concerns this offseason.

An amazing deal for a PPG defender squinty smile

A low cost option for the bottom pairing. He has perhaps second pairing upside as early as this year. I think he and Engelland or Holden could be a good fit as a D pair.

Pair Theo with Merrill and keep Holden the hell away from the roster.
