He can't defend. He sucks 5v5, he's only good for the PP.

I mean he's better than JJ... And worth more than Rust even with his lack of defending (he's still better than Risto at that though)

thats a lazy take based on his old reputation. if you look at his numbers he is a good defenseman who can play PP, PK, and 5v5. He has good possession numbers at even strength and above average D zone entry prevention, D zone exit, and O zone entry rates for D men

He's only good on the PP. Over his career, he's been below average defensively at 5v5 and the Hurricanes actually play better both offensively and defensively when he's off the ice.

based on what? You cant just say random stuff without anything to back it up. His isolated impact metrics literally show the exact opposite of what you are saying...

Look at his isolated impact. His team is better offensively AND defensively when hes on the ice: https://hockeyviz.com/static/txt/magnus/1618/sixfold-faulkju92-1618.png

EDIT: i just realized these stats were for 16-17 and 17-18. I couldnt find isolated impact for 18-19, but based on his track record, possession stats, and zone defense/exit/entry rates, he is still a positive influence on the team (from: https://public.tableau.com/profile/christopher.turtoro#!/vizhome/2-yearA3ZPlayerComps/ComparisonDashboard)
