An outside look of DET line-up - am I far off

Description
Capitals is my team, but what fun is it to be interested in the league if you don't have a decent idea of your opponents?

This is my outside look for the Red Wings line-up. Is it reasonable or do you - fans of the team - see other likely line combinations or pairings at defense? Who's got that special chemistry with another players etc.

On the blueline, a couple of those contracts are indeed bad, so I am wrong assuming the grand re-build won't happen until next season? Or will Cholowski force his way into the line-up this time?

Offensively, will all eggs be put in one basket, or will Athanasiou play 2C? IMO, both Nielsen and Filppula are better off on a third line at this stage of their careers. (I was surprised by that Filppula signing)

I have Svechnikov and Zadina in the AHL, because the former could use seasoning after missing all of last year, while Zadina didn't light things on fire in Grand Rapids, validating that 2RW spot by default. A strong camp might change things.

My prediction:

Bertuzzi - Larkin - Mantha
Athanasiou - Nielsen - Zadina
Hirose - Filppula - Rasmussen
Erne - Glendenning - Helm

Extra FWD: Abdelkader

DeKeyser - Hronek
Cholowski - Green
Nemeth - Bowey

Extra DEF: Ericsson, Daley

Howard

Extra GOA: Bernier

Switch Bertuzzi and AA.

I don't see Rasmussen making the roster over Veleno, Zadina, or Svechnikov.

Kaski is also a wild card that could make the opening roster.

If you consider Zadina was the 2nd youngest player in the AHL last season he actually had a solid season. Good chance he can make the team out of camp.

or will Athanasiou play 2C?

Yzerman has literally stated Filppula was brought in so AA is not forced to play C

I have noticed that many seems really high on Veleno. Is he good enough to be 2C, dropping Nielsen to 3C and moving Filppula to 3LW?

Veleno is good enough to be a 1C. That is his ceiling. If or when that happens is anyones guess.

Veleno could start on the wing to get acclimated to the NHL.
