I don't think we're getting their best D prospect and a lottery pick for swapping our unnecessary cap hits.

He didn't explain the first part of the trade offer where he kidnapped Melnyk & Dorian's families.

Ottawa needs a goalie so they get Allen and we take back Anderson for cap reasons, steens a cap dump had to take back Calahan for cap reasons, and they could use Edmundson they probably would sign him to an extension. So what prospect do you think I should have taken back.

Slow down: Allen and Anderson have roughly equal ability and cap hits. Steen and Callahan have roughly equal cap hits but one isn't playing this year and his cap hit won't count.

So it's all a wash until you get to Edmundson + 2nd + 4th for Brannstrom (arguably top-5 defensive prospect in the NHL, ready for NHL right now) and a 1st round pick (OTT projects to be a bottom-5 team in the final standings, meaning their pick will be anywhere from 1st overall (most likely) to 7th overall.

So none of it is realistically going to happen. And if the goal is to move Edmundson's cap, his value given his contract/performance last year, his value is probably between a 2nd and 3rd round pick.

Ottawa - remember that high end D prospect we traded our number 1 player with an 8 year extension 1 for 1, yeah lets trade him to another team along with our first (which is probably top 5 in a ridiculously strong draft year) for another teams spare parts oh and well throw in our LTIR for cap purposes too
