As a Jets fan. I’d think we’d have to accept. Pretty solid offer. Best Laine package I’ve seen yet

thats an extremely generous package for the jet. it would be hard for them to turn down that deal, although i feel the jets aren't rebuilding. the jets would probably want one of miller, kravtov, chytil in the package.

From a NYR perspective - I want nothing to do with Laine right now. One dimensional game and drastic contract demands. A sniper would help the cause but I’d rather trade Kreider for a prospect or 1st round pick to fill a top 6 forward position going forward and if we need a goal scorer, Mike Hoffman will be available next year. Selling “low” on Howden isn’t ideal and DeAngelo could be a valuable trade chip when Keane or Lundkvist are ready in a couple years. No sense trying to push the rebuild any quicker when 3/4 of the team is still so young and Marc Staal is still stinking up the defense.

good points! adding anymore big contracts the next 2 years would be a mistake. after 2 more season when a few big contracts are off the team and some of our young core grows will be a better time to decide who they can trade or extend. having such a deep prospect system is great that it will alway the team to trade for top 6 talent, but now isn't the time to do it after signing trouba and panarin. in 2-3 seasons the rangers will have to sign some of their young players to extensions.

In 2 years:
Lundqvist Smith and Staal will not be there. That’s 18M$ free. The buyout salary will be reduced 3M$ less. Salary Cap increases in 2 years....
NYR signs a 5M$ goalie NYR will have around 18M$ to sign Kakko Buchnevish and others....

Not the point of your trade idea, but the addition of Laine would make Buchnevich completely expendable. He isn’t a fit for 3rd line duty and was totally inept on the left side last season so once Kakko and one of Kravstov, (Laine?), or anyone else we acquire to play 2RW, Buchnevich has to go
