This cant be a serious offer, Svechnikov is a also a #2 OA and had only played 1 season. Hamilton would instantly become your best defenseman. And then you want a 2020 1st as well. In return Carolina geta Laine, Comrie (bust), Poolman (doesnt crack canes roster), and Stanley (might be an ok 7th D for them).

This is the equivalent of offering the same package for Trouba, Kakko, a B prospect and NYRs first

About as serious as the offers that are coming in for laine, only probably a little too extreme to the other side of the spectrum, was wondering if anyone was awake out there lol

Don't think Carolina is at all interested in paying Laine that much after the deals they made with Aho and Teravainen. This trade would put Carolina over the cap.
Only reason that the Jets really want to trade Laine is for cap relief but finding that team...that's difficult. Plus the on ice value probably various greatly among NHL GMs.

There's basically no trade in which the Canes would move Svechnikov - he's on entry level deal for the next 2 seasons and his trajectory is insane. Hurricanes really can't afford Laine's contract.

Any trade that starts with Svechnikov is just no. Any trade that includes Svechnikov and Dougie needs like McDavid coming back the other way dude, this is SO bad

I’m not going to comment on the trade as I’ve stopped doing that on laine trades but Hamilton would be our 3rd best d-man. He is a step down from Trouba who was tied with JoMo and buff. JoMo and buff are both better and imo JoMo is our best. Hamilton should not be a contenders best d-man
