Yea no thanks, the Penguins have enough trash contracts as it is.

Not to mention they probably won't enough have enough cap to give Kotkaniemi his big contract

Look, I know it's monday morning but wow that is horrible for the pens. Price's contract is horrible for the back end of it and will kill any remaining chance this team has of winning in the crosby era.

No, I think Montreal is stuck with the most over-rated goalie on one of the worst contracts.

$10.5M for 7 more years, through to his 39th year... Hard no.

Maybe, maybe not. If Kotkaniemi pans out to be close to Barkov like multiple reports state, then the PENS have a good chance to get at least 1 more cup in the next 6 yrs.

He might retire earlier than that and the recapturing penalty is on MTL.

wouldnt say he is over-rated. i would say he is injury prone. i would say his defense in front of him isnt special but injuries have really been the driving factor. not his actual ability. That being said price is a canadien. he just cant be moved. especially when malkin + murray is > kotka and price...

MTL says no, Murry will never be as good as Price will be for the rest of his contract, Price will have a career like Lundquist and play out his contract. KK career is to young to trae for a 33 year old Malkin, all in all easy no from MTL

Injuries are one thing, and sure, they keep the total number of games played down. But the D in front? No, that is the point of being a good/great goalie. If you need a solid D in front of you then are you such a great goalie? Bad goalies (well, not bad, if you are bad you won't be in the NHL period) need solid D in front of them. The point of being good/great is that you do not need a wall of a D in front of you and you can still deliver. 3 for 11 in playoff rounds is not good. Price has led Montreal to... nothing.

Sorry, I am not actually trying to Price-bash. Just that contract is poo on a stick...

same contract Lundquist got, and he will play it out. It will be fine for the next 7 years

If that happened, I would disown this team and become a Penguins fan. And I abseloutely hate the Penguins.

You're saying that Malkin and Murray are worth more?
