Am I the only one who is low on Sikura? Help me out Stan, you’re the VP and GM. Make me understand!

Hes a good player who has gotten really unlucky thus far. I still have hope for him, and think he fits Strome and Debrincat's styles better than he would fit a bottom-six role.

None of these guys (Sikura, Kubalik, Nylander) are a good fit on the second line as that line needs a two way winger that will play some defense.

I get what you've been saying about adding a two-way guy to that line, but I think they're better off with a guy who fits their playing style, that being a fast playmaker. When looking at the line combinations involving Cat and Strome last year, they played most with Kane, Kahun, and Perlini. None of these lines had very good possession numbers, with their CF% all being under 50. While that seems bad, their usage wasn't meant to be a possession line, but rather a primarily goal scoring line. So, if you look at their GF% instead of their CF%, the Kahun and Perlini lines were among the best that played last season.

Last year, their defensive shortcomings were magnified by the complete lack of defense behind them, but now that Bowman improved the blue line, I think the issues can be masked while the scoring can continue if they play with another fast playmaker like Kubalik, Nylander, or Perlini. If they put Saad or Shaw with them to babysit defensively, the possession numbers might marginally increase, but in the end their production will dip and they won't be able to provide what they are asked to provide because their playing styles won't match.

First of all, I have no idea what you're saying when you claim Debrincat-Strome is a fast line....Strome is SLOOOOWWWW...horribly slow.

Second, Kahun was one of the better defensive forwards last year, wasn't scared to play the boards and fall back...that was the thing that everyone liked about Kahun...plays 200ft.

Lastly, if you look deeper into the advanced stats when Kane was double shifted on that line it was for offensive zone starts. Additionally, look at odd man rushes and high chance opportunities for the opponents...who was on the ice?

Why wouldn't Saad fit on that line? He's a hell of lot faster then Strome.

I didn't mean that every player on the line was fast, but that the wingers should be fast to complement Strome. I agree that the Cat-Strome-Kane line would be too defensively irresponsible, and I'm not saying that Saad would be a bad fit on the line, I'm just saying that he would be better used elsewhere. I like the idea of Saad on a possession-driven line as opposed to the pure goal scoring line that Cat and Strome would anchor. Their line will probably make their fair share of defensive mistakes, but they will be better concealed by the improved blue line, and playing them with someone like Kubalik will give them the best chance to do what they do best - score.

Why would you want 2 snipers on a line together? You need a 200 ft player on a line not another shooter in Kubalik. Saad can transition the puck with speed and pass which we've seen a million times. Cat has a hell of a shot...those two together are solid with Strome eventually making it to the front of the net. Those 3 would be a good fit. Having too snipers playing the corners doesn't make sense. You've got to have a playmaking forward that will transition, carry the puck and not cough it up to compliment a shooter like Cat. That's why Kane fits in that way but the line becomes a defensive nightmare. Toews does this on the 1st line and why he and Kane just put up career numbers. Dach will eventually be a better center for Cat, but right now it's Strome who can pass and plays the net but we've got to have a guy able to carry the puck and look for the slots in the o zone along the boards...Kahun was admirable in this role as a rookie. Kubalik just isn't that type of player.
