Here’s where kase’s involvement in a potential deal was suggested https://twitter.com/lukedecock/status/1171160144966799360?s=21

They’re a legit cup contender if they can get enough out of the goaltending

They got (2) 1st rounders. Use one of them for a goalie @ the TDL. Then you have at least 1 backup that can take over it Petr stinks.

I think they’ll get more assets too the rumor is that the return on Faulk is Kase and other assets so we’ll have to see what the return is. What would you think of CAR potentially trading for Quick?

big time saying somethign without saying something tweet right there, pro move.

Saying team is interested in good prospect, wouldnt be shocked if he was invovlved. So whatever happen hes not wrong. Like saying before the Avs traded Barrie.....They have strong interest in Nylander, wouldnt be shocked if he was involved.

I would love for us to send one of our firsts + McGinn or something + prospect for Quick

If he rebounds and stays healthy until the deadline it makes all the sense in the world though. It’s a huge if but I could see it happening.

McGinn, a first, and Reimer...LAK can buy out Reimer after the season ends

The only intelligent move if Murray is willing to trade Ondrej Kase for one year of Justin Faulk is if the additional piece from Carolina is Roland McKeown. Anaheim doesn't have any need for forwards below the level of Aho, Svechnikov and Teravainen, and nobody in SoCal believes that Waddell is going to trade one of them.

Rumor has it there’s already an agreement in place Faulk is just trying to sign an extension with Anaheim so he can waive his NTC

I can see Blake getting Bean and the first for Quick. That would be highly acceptable to me.

Pretty sure the deal is done, Faulk is just trying to work an extension with the Ducks. Of course, if the extension falls through, so does the deal.

The problem with that structure is that Anaheim has absolutely no need for McGinn. We already have a logjam of young forwards we're trying to get enough ice time for. Frankly, I'd prefer a second to McGinn.

If Faulk is the player you guys keep touting, and not the defensive liability others keep deploring, then adding Faulk for more than one year immediately rehabilitates the Ducks into playoff contenders. I hope you all are right. But I'd rather have a left-handed forward prospect like Kuokkanen than McGinn.

I am not a Faulk fan, by any means. I was actually quite surprised to hear that Anaheim is trading for him, since I was under the impression the team is rebuilding.

I'm kinda surprised, too. Maybe the thinking is that Fowler can compensate for Faulk's perceived defensive deficiencies. But my idea of the best trade for the Ducks is Kase for Faulk and McKeown, due to the problem presented by the expansion draft in 2021 (since Anaheim already has Fowler, Lindholm and Manson and a raft of young forwards they need to protect).

I agree with what you said about adding a draft pick or McKeown to assure that CAR gets Kase in return. I added McGinn because I thought the trade needed more value and I was unsure on who to add. I still think either Martinook or McGinn get moved in a different trade because it doesn’t make sense to have your potential 13th forward making $2M on the cap.

I definitely think LAK would make the trade of Quick for a 1st + Bean + McGuinn, but CAR would probably need to shed Reimer somehow too. Maybe another trade with another team, but that's more lost assets tied to getting Quick. Also, more importantly...Quick with 4 years until he's 37 probably isn't the most desirable goalie out there for CAR. I understand why he's discussed on here because he'll be available, but at some point (if not already last year) he's going to slow down and $5.8M (4) years is a huge commitment. I personally think getting Quick is short sighted. COULD they absorb that mistake. Yeah, but why? Wait until the trade deadline. Maybe Lundqvist or either Lehner/Crow (if healthy) or Dubnyk are available. They could be had for less and (again more importantly) not for a 4 years commitment. Just my opinion though.

From a team perspective, Marty doesn't get moved. He is a fan favorite and brings something to the locker room that is needed since Willy is gone. I could see McGinn going first.

I like your thought process on this for sure. I would love to get Dubnyk at the deadline. Dubnyk with Mrazek backing him up would be unreal.
