I dont get this move

Created by: Ccc
Team: 2019-20 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 10, 2019
Published: Sep. 10, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I’m a sharks fan, I’d love for the ducks to be ****.
But this doesn’t make sense. This teams problem was scoring last year, like big time. So you’re moving Kase? For Faulk who yes brings a lot of positive in the offence category but not a lot defensively. I’d pay more than Faulk for Kase, Kase has a lot of potential and he’s young.

You’re moving offence when a need for Anaheim needs offence this really drops there wing strength down.

I think CAR has to throw in a pick. 2nd or 1st.

It has to be Toronto’s first (carolina would think they’d get farther than toronto)

But even still. This is a weird move and I don’t see it being a first coming back

Edited my comment above!

Idk Petr is so flakey but they may acquire someone at TDL.

I just think carolina is really getting a lot stronger with this move

As a Ducks fan here in L.A., I'm entirely with you.

The only justification for this trade is some doubt about Kase's physical condition, in which case Anaheim is cheating Carolina. I don't like it. Add to that the factor that it adds a fourth defenseman to be protected in the expansion draft coming in two years, and it REALLY doesn't make sense.

Don’t protect Fowler, think ducks have so many young forwards that Fowler and that contract may be safe.

What I don't understand is, is Anaheim looking to make an impact this year specifically? I feel like this wasn't a deal that needed to be made right now. They could have easily just kept Kase and added someone at the TDL when they'd know a bit more of where they'd be. If they think by subtracting Kase and adding Faulk they'd be an instant playoff team, I don't see their logic.

Im not opposed to adding Faulk but right now and for Kase makes no sense to me.

I agree Kase is an overpayment for Faulk ... i'd have to think there's a pick going back to Anaheim.

Also, remember the deal might not happen. Faulk must now make the decision.

Just a question: is Faulk willing to go to Anaheim as long as he gets an extension?

There's a thought. I'll have to consider it. Your advice is always worth mulling over.

Apparently the extra is going back to Carolina... I don’t get it either. Chances are that maybe there are more pieces going either way.

That is what they are waiting on, Faulk to waive. Might not even happen.

The expansion draft is a good point but yeah I see Fowler being left, but an even better now point is this impact. As one of you said ANA could sell a couple piece around TDL for much more, this make the case that Kase (great dad pun i know thank me later) isn’t that healthy. This make me think low key their management doesn’t believe case will play full time, and so they’re trying to ditch him before teams can see him maybe play 20/30 games before TDL and than get time off due to injuries again.

That’s the thing, we’re all just trying to find the motive behind this Kase, now only if we can get a lead.....

It would be a bad trade for the Ducks. Looks like Faulk has to save the Ducks. Don't think he'll waive to go to the Ducks. Especially since the Ducks would want an extension and Faulk has the Ducks on his no-trade list for a reason

Faulk said he won’t go without an extension I think.
It’s srill a bad trade but we could be wrong and Kase could have injury trouble still and Ana is trying to ditch him

Maybe they need defence like Faulk when Anaheim trades Manson in a package for Marner

Just saying maybe there is more to this trade than we can see yet. Let the dominos fall. Maybe Laine gets traded to Anaheim in a package including Manson.

Kase has yet to play a full season (he's missed a combined 68 games over the last two years) and part of that is due to concussions. He has flashed a ton of potential but we're talking about him like he's a proven stud in this league he's not, yet. If he can stay healthy I fully believe he'd be a top scorer on this team but he hasn't shown he's capable of that. If anything, Carolina is gambling big time that Kase can overcome his injury history. Faulk is a really good d-man and still pretty young. He fills a need and as much as I love Kase, right wing is a spot where we have good depth.

If Kase stays healthy, we lose this trade. But considering his injury history, is that likely to happen?

All over twitter, nothing being said about Faulk plus just kase plus. There’s nothing concrete. Personally I think it’s a 1 for 1 and the ducks are doubtful he can stay healthy.
