Not gonna lie, obviously it's been beaten to death on here lately - and he's a very polarizing player - but, Laine would look great on that 2nd line RW. I wonder if there's actually any truth to that speculation.

I think he would be absolutely worth offer sheeting. Habs have the prospects up front and a young enough core to build around for the future with. I think people over exaggerate the importance of 1st rounders in 4 consecutive years compared to an elite goal scorer. Many teams have sacrificed their 1st rounders for TDL additions many years in a row and those were on rentals! Imagine getting one of this generations best natural goal scorers for like 5-7 years? Sure there is always the chance they are a lottery team but even if they did, what would be the odds that player would be better than Laine??

Its not like the Habs would have no draft picks at all. They'd still be able to move up in the draft with their other picks (or simply use them and draft good players with) and/or trade pending UFA's for picks to replenish their missing picks over the years. Petry, Danault and Tatar are prime players who could have their position replaced with a cheaper better option in the coming years and would each garner a late 1st rounder at least. All of a sudden the players you would have traded or lost in free agency anyway, are now replacing the value traded away for the 21 year old super sniper.

Domi-Kotkaniemi-Laine would be a sick line.

And that monotony is why I felt compelled to post a pointless variation of the same thing over and over again.

Agree with this.

Where'd the trade go?

I didn't actually make that trade, we just ended up talking about it. This AGM along with my other two before it were a sarcastic response to the numerous Armchair COACH's who are posting Habs AGM's with no changes except for one person trying Byron on LW and the other trying Byron on the RW. Like wow talk about quality content there. So I decided to be an arse and post 3 back to back to back AGM's with the most minor changes of 4th line players.....because CONTENT! awesome face
