Description

Apparently the Sens are actually kicking the tires on Laine. This would be a huge move for the team and a signal that they are serious about getting better, despite Eugene's penny pinching ways. I'm not sure what the cost would be here, but I've taken a crack at it.

Ottawa is an interesting team to get in the Laine mix. If I'm jets I say keep those picks and send a 2021 Ottawa 1st with top 5 protection.

Too much quantity and uncertainty, two pieces could walk after this year, and one of those two isn't that helpful anyway as we already have good bottom six depth. A late first and two seconds are nice to have, but don't move the needle much as neither are top end assets. Formenton is a great prospect, but doesn't have close to Laine's ceiling. Unfortunately for Ottawa the only things they have that could be the centerpiece in a Laine trade are Tkachuk and Chabot, neither of which they would move.

Laine's production would drop without a play making centre. Sens should save their good prospects and picks. Not this year but next year lots of cap and plenty of UFAs will be available.
