An outside look of TBL line-up - am I far off

Description
Capitals is my team, but what fun is it to be interested in the league if you don't have a decent idea of your opponents?

This is my outside look for the Lightning line-up. Is it reasonable or do you - fans of the team - see other likely line combinations or pairings at defense? Who's got that special chemistry with another players etc.

After promoting Gourde and Cirelli in consecutive seasons, I figure another Crunch forward could find a top nine (or even top six) role. Just looking at the AHL stats, Verhaeghe should be next in line. Whoever it might be, will he make it into the top six? Or can a guy like Palat still fill that position?

Among forwards, I assume Point will sign. I only listed him as a year, only for the purpose of predicting him in the team. If it's a bridge deal or longer term, I didn't take into considerations.

On defense, I guess that one of Coborn or Rutta could be buried in the minors, to open up some cap space to sign Point. In this case, I choose Rutta, but the advantages he has is the fact he's right-handed, and his presense would mean three left- and three right-handed D-men. If Coborn stays, which one of the left-handed blueliners will play to the right?

Palat will probably play with stamkos instead of Verharghe, and switch Cernak and Sergachev, otherwise its pretty good

I agree with CrossFireX33 Palat top six till he gets hurt again.... I think Volkov (cannot keep him the AHL forever, he was close the last two years) makes the team. Martel goes on waivers and picked up by someone, probably Philly where we got him from.

Thank you! Well, living in Europe, I still might not watch as much as I would like. Weekdays are obviously impossible, unless holiday in the US and watching a matinee game. I try to watch Capitals once either Friday or Saturday night and then matinee games on Saturday and Sunday, whatever teams there may be.

I love outside looks, thanks for trying smile

Palat = Top6 all the time, you can bet your house on it, unless he is injured...

I'm from europe too and all of the matches you can watch them later on the internet, no need to watch it live, if u busy or sleeping smile
I'm planning this year 164 matches minimum on regular season awesome face
I see you root for the Washington Capitals, that's the team i'm only scared in the playoffs from the East, if we meet again... i feel like we lose again...rip cry

Anyways, so we have chemistry like:
Johnson-Point-Kuch synergy
x-Stamkos-Kuch synergy
Palat-Stamkos-Gourde synergy
triplets line (Palat-TJ-Kuch)
Killorn-Cirelli-Joseph synergy

Defense chemistry:
McD-Cernak

Currently i'm only sure about Vasi+McEl goalie duo. Hedman + McD top 2 LD...

I have a feeling though: Witkowski is not a scratch and not in the lineup. Same feelings for Martel...

I would really like to see Alex Barré-Boulet make the rooster, for me from reports it looks like he is like Jack Hughes/Brayden Point 2.0 PogChamp
And also seems like Kucherov coaching Volkov to make the rooster for real this time. Or someone will beat him again at camp + preseason that would mean a trade for PoolParty as i heard Edmonton Oilers are interested in Volkov...
I'm not even sure anymore, if Verhaeghe makes the lineup, and then we didn't talk about Raddysh,Katchouk,Stephens or Cal Foote...
Basically our best prospects are around the same level most of them, so same problem with the lineups, as with predicting the lines, who plays and who doesn't... we have no idea...yet...

So it's hard, but i show you a possible one from the lots of combinations(this is most likely based on last year):

--------LW-------C--------RW--------
1st:Johnson-Point-Kucherov
2nd:Palat-Stamkos-Gourde
3rd:Killorn-Cirelli-Joseph
4th:Maroon-Paquette-Volkov

or if Verh.,Stephens makes the lineup, then 4th line:
4th:Paquette-Verhaeghe/Stephens-Maroon

Defense:
1st:Hedman-Sergachev
2nd:McDonagh-Cernak
3rd:Coburn-Shattenkirk

Here the interesting thing is, where we play Shatty - so you can move him down or up the D, depends on his health and performance. In preseason we will see, i hope he is real good cool For now i excpect he plays with Coburn.

Your Hedman-Cernak Top pairing D would be really fun = my dream scenario, with Serg moved to left D, so like rotation with LD Coburn/ RD Schenn all year for any D when somebody needs to rest:
1st:Hedman-Cernak
2nd:McDonagh-Shattenkirk
3rd:Sergachev-Schenn

If we are confident Serg will be forever RD(and Shattenkirk = never again in old top form), then maybe this:
1st:Hedman-Cernak
2nd:McDonagh-Shattenkirk
3rd:Coburn-Sergachev

Nonetheless, the Hed,Shatt,Serg triple QB combo to drive offense looks amazing for points totals on all 3 D lines. Much better than last year, with like Grandpa Girardi ...and Mr. 5.5 mill $ Injured Stralman.

Goalies:
Vasilevskiy(under 50 games)-McElhinney(over 30 games)

Scratches:
Schenn-Rutta-(Foote)
Verh-Volkov-Stephens

Foote showed lots of imporovement, i heard, so i expect him to play couple of games at least on the D. I don't think we can hit the jackpot 2 years in a row, like with Cernak... but u never know ofc...

Anyways, all lines looking good for now(and if we add Kreider maybe at trade deadline or similar style player). That would be huge for the playoffs...

The waiting is over soon, only 10 days until Tampa Bay Lightning hockey! popcorn
