Does no one else agree that Morrissey makes anyone he plays with 2x better? I never thought trouba was anything special till he played with Morrissey.

I think pionk is gonna have an unreal season and surprise a lot of people.

MTL isn’t gonna wanna take on Perreault so I don’t see this trade going through.

Tampa trade is decent. You’d probably have to give them back a physical forward in return instead of a prospect

MTL decline even if you take out Juulsen. No room for Perreault and we have enough depth at center

I definitely agree on the Morrissey thing... I'm just not that high on Poolman... I know he has had success at the AHL level... But he's already 26, and has never been a consistent NHLer.

I don't see why MTL wouldn't take on Perreault. They could use the forward depth, and could easily waive Alzner to make him fit.

Somehow trade them a forward that doesn't use any cap room? They just signed Pat Maroon... I think they have the physicality they need. They could use the cap relief.

Perreault is a winger.... I assume Karl Alzner will be waived with the intention to send him to Laval... Which gives you the room.

trade them a bad contract that is expiring next summer so they have room to sign Sergachev and Cirelli

MTL already sorta has cap issue and Perreault having 2 years left probably isn’t ideal for them with Domi needing a new contract. I’m not that high on pool man either but I do think he’s improved a good amount and he definitely gets a shot this year with injuries.

That contract does not exist on the Jets. All of their forwards are with on 2+ year contracts... Or RFA's.

Man no room for Perreault and we have enough depth at center (Spacek). Alzner Weise will be sent down to Laval, but we still have Hudon Reilly Peca Cousins healthy scratches

I couldn't agree more I have been saying this a lot over the offseason. Also Morrisey is super underrated

Im glad he's underrated tbh, it makes me happy seeing that he wants to sign long term here in WPG. I think if we get him 7x6.5 thats a huge steal.

He literally makes whoever he plays with 2x better and we're gonna see that on display this season with Pionk.

Yeah Morrissey will make either Pionk or Poolman look very respectable just like Buff does with whoever plays with him.

The Jets don't need a defenseman, they'll be fine as is.
No need to make some dumb trade to get a middling defenseman that we don't need that's just gonna clog up the system.

I think you need a LD even more. Kulikov and Bealieu both pretty crappy. At least Pionk and Niku have some upside. And Morrisey is a 2nd pair guy on most teams. ??‍♂️

Josh Morrissey is easily the most underrated Defenseman in the NHL. He is definitely a #1 Dman on most teams. He's not a huge offensive defenseman, but he is very solid in all areas, and almost never makes mistakes. It will be interesting to see how Trouba fairs without him.

Niku is a LHD, despite playing the right side in the AHL. I would rather see him on his natural side at the NHL level.

Again, I'm not at all high on Poolman. I'm sure he's a fine defenseman, but I'm bearish on what is essentially a 26 year old rookie... Noah Juulsen is a good 2-way defenseman, he missed last year on a fluke injury.

And the Jets get some cap relief with this move.... Wins all around.

I'm not going to have a Corsi conversation about a shutdown defenseman. If we're talking Erik Karlsson... give me all the corsi you want.

Juulsen might be good in the long run but he missed most of last season, Poolman is the better option for this season.

I watched a lot of AHL last season, Poolman will be fine this season.

Luke Green has missed a lot of hockey the last two seasons due to various injuries, Poolman is definitely the better option then Green is this season and likely the next two. Green has a lot of work to do to catch up and he has a lot of Jets D prospects ahead of him on the depth chart, it isn't looking good for him unfortunately, I've seen him play at the AHL level a bit though and he's pretty mobile/offensive so maybe there's some hope yet.
