I wonder if his demands will change if he changes teams. He will no longer be able to use Matthews as a comparable.

Yea, i's one reason he virtually untradable. No other team wants to overpay him according their standards. The Leafs might have offered about the highest contract Marner is either going to see from any NHL teams.

I believe he is using more than just Matthews as a comparable. So, logic then dictates it does not matter what team he's on, comps are comps, even of those comps are ridiculously unreasonable.
