I'll say it. It's it kinda unpractical for the Flames to trade two or three players and then not have a signed Marner in return? Teams won't be trading without cap/term certainty.

I see you are saying that a lot (that teams won't trade for Marner without contract), but Kyle Dubas said the other day on Sportsnet that he received calls from other teams who were open to discussion if it came to a trade. So I think some teams might be willing to.

For all 3 of these guys you could sign Marner at 12m. That's a pretty gross number for Marner.

I'd rather have Tkachuk long term than Marner. Not a fan of either team, just saying they're much closer in value than this trade shows.

Plus Tkachuk will put a lot less strain on the cap numbers.
