As a Sen fans, I'm surprised you want to give all that up for Laine. But you're right your trades do satisfy the Jets.

OK. I'm not such a big fan of Laine. Laine numbers would plummet without a centre in Ottawa feeding him nice passes.
I kinda think the Sens have hope. Lots of young players. Think they can turn it around. Now when it comes time to spend to the cap, the owner has to step up to the plate, as do the fans by attending the games.

Not too sure that statement holds any water. Laine played the majority of last season with Little and there is no chemistry there and he still scored 30. In the two years prior he had a mixed bag of C's. The C he had the most chemistry with was Stastny. If Laine was able to play with a top C or develop chemistry with a young C, he'd be in the 40-50 range IMO

That's a pretty solid deal. Get a young top 4D, a top 6C, a solid top 9C and a 1st in a deep draft and a 2nd. On paper to me, this team looks better than the one they have now

It is a solid deal, but I dont think solid is what what gets you Laine. There should be 29 other teams pitching the same style deal which would increase the return IMO.

How many teams have the prospects and cap space to trade for Laine? Youre already cutting suitors in half. Unless teams do a 1 for 1 like Werenski for Laine

No from Isles. Right now they have 17 Forwards on the roster and no space for Roslovic.

If they did have the space for Roslovic and were looking at a trade with Mayfield, a pick would not be added by the Isles.

Im just saying that if Laine was made available pretty much every team should make an offer. Whether that is prospects, picks, vets or whatever. People are selling Laine short after last season, but 110 goals in 3 years in unbelievable and if he was on a line with a top C he'd be in teh 40-50 each year for the next decade. That kind of production is worth more than your OTT offer IMO. I think with Laine, you are paying for potential and he has that through the roof

I would start with that offer but id go as high as Brannstrom, Formenton, Chlapik and a 2nd.

How about Brannstrom, White + Bernard-Docker?

For the Jets White is a cost controlled player that we give a shot at 2C with Connor and Roslovic. Brannstrom is a LHD prospect, which we don't need more of at all, but he's also one of the best D prospects not in the NHL so we make space for him. Then we get a RHD prospect that we desperately need.

so, your original offer but JBD instead of SJ 1st and Brannstrom instead of Wolainen tierny and a 2nd.

White would easily lock down 2C in Winnipeg
