What a fantastic deal. Especially if he takes a step offensively, it has potential to be a steal. Have a great top 4 D locked up right through his prime.

As a Senators fan, this is great as a comparable deal for Chabot. I think Chabot still gets more, but the 8 years is a great sign for us.

Sens should be trying to lock down Chabot long term ASAP before he wins a Norris trophy and his aav goes way up.

Imagine a year ago thinking that Kevin Hayes would have signed a bigger contract than Morrissey? It honestly wouldn't surprise me if all NHL negotiations were done by a magic 8 ball

By all accounts they're working away on the deal, and what Little we've heard make it sounds like it's going well. They're planning on being pretty tight lipped on the whole thing, so I'd imagine we'll just wake up one morning and there will be a deal done.
