What could we add on from the Leafs end....

Austin Matthews and John tavares. Half their salaries retained also.

Honestly, it’s more of a matter of CBJ not giving up key pieces of their core. The value is certainly good, but CBJ don’t want to lose Werenski or Anderson

Find it funny Leaf fans complain that Marner is greedy, spoiled and out of touch. Well maybe so, but stop trying to trade him like he is the next Gretzsky then.

It is funny he is not good enough to make Matthew's or Taveres money but he is good enough for a king's ransom.

I actually kinda like this idea. I think the leafs definitely have to add something, but not anything crazy. maybe add a 2nd from Toronto and a 3rd from CBJ or something.

Marner might not play for the Leafs this season, but I don't see any team wanting to trade for him if his contracts demands are way too high. Switzerland is nice.

Anderson+Savard+ seems fair. As for the + might be draft picks or higher end prospect.

Gretzky would fetch more than that. Like I mentioned above, what can we add from the Leafs to make the trade more realistic? What's your suggestion?

I would be ok with that... I love Josh Anderson, he adds some sandpaper and has some scoring upside as well.

Don't think many Leaf fans are out of touch at all. If the report "demands" by Marner are correct, Leafs management has the absolute right to say "no". If Marner's demands are so reasonable any other NHL could have signed him this summer. But I do find most of the Marner trades completely absurd. No team giving away good assets for an unsigned player who apparently wants to much $$$ on short term.
The trade posted just might suitable to the Leafs.

Tavares money? Hockey fans know in almost all cases UFA get more money than RFAs. Don't know why non Leaf fans are so stuck on Tavares and Matthews comparisons exclusively, when they are other good comparable available. Right now the closest Marner comparisons might be Point, Tzachuk and Rantanen. Zero term and zero $$$. And the one big RFA signing was Aho was signed 8.5m X 5 and his stats and value are identical to Marner's in the last two years.

Find it funny that Leaf haters complain about anyone offering him less than 12 million but if anyone trades him for a shred of value it's an awful deal for the other team. Called having your cake and eating it too
