That would totally make sense, if Byfuglien is out for the season, and the trade dumps cap to Carolina.... Otherwise, sign two $8M forwards, and the cap space above is more than gone.

That D group is pretty sad and unless there's a way to clear the caphit from Byfuglien (LTIR/IR) the team is handcuffed as to getting a replacement (like Faulk).

Hopefully the leave of absence is short and temporary.... granted i wouldn't mind not having Byfuglien knocking my teams players around but if he isn't skating then it's b/c of other issues and i don't want that either.

Risto to jets about to heat up. Jets cant afford to have a bad start because division is to good to make up ground.

Maurice said the leave is "nothing sinister" which I guess is a good sign? meaning nobody died or is sick? I dont know...what I do know is the jets need Big Buf this season more than any other. Maybe it's time to reach out to Ben Hutton's camp and see if he wants to play for the jets
