Even with the Wolanin injury, I don't think Lajoie should be in the NHL this year. He was horrific last year, and he never should have set foot in Ottawa. He should be in the AHL until like February before he even gets a sniff at the NHL again. Let Lajoie play 1st pair minutes in the AHL, and see how he handles that to start. He went from bottom pair AHL minutes to top 4 NHL minutes and was never given a shot at anything in between.

I'd go
Chabot-Zaitsev
Brannstrom-Hainsey( I'd have them alternate who plays the right side. Branny prefers the right side, and he could learn a lot from Hainsey.)
Borowiecki-DeMelo
Then maybe Englund, Goloubef or Ebert as the 7th D.

I just dont want Boro to be playing in the top 6. I would rather have Lajoie, Englund or Jaros playing over him to see what we have in them versus what we know about boro. Boro is the perfect 7th D and play max 15 games a year. I would want Brannstrom playing on left to get used to the speed of the NHL before playing on the offside

Boro is adequate. Better option than Lajoie or Englund. Lajoie needs AHL experience, and Englund is an AHL player. Jaros should definitely play over Boro, but it would never be Jaros or Boro, itd be Jaros or DeMelo.

Well even if Boro plays, it will be about 10 games before being hurt so both options will be open I guess. Maybe a trade for a LHD stop gap until Wolanin is back will be best. Guy like Kulikov, Merill, Holden could net us an asset and can flip at deadline
