I think if you bump that McAvoy deal up to 7 years that looks about right. I don’t think Sweeney would let a group 1 escape with only buying out one year of UFA. I’d swap out Frederic for Studnicka too, but otherwise that’s not bad. What happens when Miller comes off LTIR?

thats the million dollar question. something has to give, almost like the boychuk contract from a couple years ago.

Imo studnicka is not ready. 3C has been a mystery for the bruins in recent years they need to try and find some stability, frederic has a year pro and nhl games already under his belt and at this point is better defensively particularly at the center position. I think studnicka starts in Providence coming out of junior but could definitely be a call up at some point, but if he does get called up I think it will be as a winger on the Krejci line and not as the third line center.

What makes you think studnicka is not ready?

It's not even that he's not ready it's just that there are guys like frederic, who are more ready to take on the demands of that role given their experience at this point.

You just said he wasn’t ready?

Anyway, what makes you think that Frederic is more ready to take on the demands of the role?

1 full year pro, 15 nhl games last seasons, better defensively which would make him the better option as a bottom six center right now.

You may have guessed where I’m going with this. Have you seen the guy play? Read up about him? Just reviewed hockeydb? I kind of think your basing your opinion on nothing.

Yes i have seen them both play that's why I said he's better defensively at this point. And i could say the same about your opinion of studnicka

in a recent cassidy interview, when asked about line combos he kinda hinted at frederic being more ready than stud at this point

Of course. I just think the defensive side argument is a bit off. Studnicka is a defensive monster. He would have five points in an international game with the game winning goal to complete the hat trick and his coach would be talking about how good he was defensively.
