So his GF at 5 on 5 is projected as first, but in reality ranks 35th? What

Yes, that just means he has been underperforming relative to expectation. But really? That's all you took away from that? He's 35th among all defenseman in the NHL for GF and you're complaining about how his realization is different from expectation? Goals aren't everything when it comes to hockey, especially for defenseman lmao

Edit: typo

How many votes did he get for the Norris? He's not the best defensemen in the league.

Award votings are a popularity contest

Maybe losing to the bruins in 7 will humble him

See my precious comment. I never said he was the best, I said he's one of the best

Still think Dumba and Suter are better. Just my opinion, not that it counts for anything though lol

He finished 11th in the voting. No one said he's the best, thankfully he's not the highest paid either. Oddly he's actually the 11th highest paid defenseman signed for next year.

Not really, it means that we'd expect him to score more goals than he does, which means that he's even better than he has performed in the goal-scoring department (to simplify it even more: his shooting percentage is lower than we'd expect it to be). But again, give that quote another read. It seems like you're disregarding many of the other points in it.

Ya i dont think hes not a great d man. Just giving those extra few years might not look so great when he's 36-37. But best to lock up the d core, who knows what's going on with the front end lol

As a leafs fan I will say he's one of the most underrated players in the league

Team is screwed the last few years of Spurgeon's extension anyhow, it ends the year after Suter and Parise are done.

Not saying he isn't a good d man. There's a reason I picked him up in Fantasy and held on to him. Just getting the full Wild Brigade here geesus lol

A whole 5 more votes than the last placed D man, and Jake Muzzin tied him in voting, so yeah. I get it though, you take the awards with a grain of salt. I never said he isn't underrated, nor did I say he isn't a great d man. one of the best im not so sure of.

More Surprised Suter didn't get more votes. As an overall d man from offense to defense, I rank Suter higher than a guy like Burns, as an overall D man. Once again just my opinion, like an asshole, everyone's got one

You asked if he received any votes, I responded that he had. *Shrug*

The last place dman is still a damn good defenseman. If you're getting Norris votes, you're an excellent player.

Not really, hes slowly become an elite Dman, and his game is one that projects to age really well

That is what everyone says when an older guy signs a big deal like this. So they aren't rebuilding just going to keep getting much worse.

Awful deal made by the Wild GM. Too much for way too long. Should have traded him or let him walk after the season.

They do and it almost always is a bad idea. Minnesota should be looking at a rebuild and this is a mistake

Suter wasn't good last year, by good I mean by his standard of play. He didn't really recover completely from his injury just before the Playoffs the year prior. He should be back to his normal self this year though.

Crazy how in an off year he scores 47 pts and leads the league in MPG at 34 and people really think he isnt one of the best defenseman in the league
