Absolutely not. You don't trade guys like hyman when he has that contract, but adding Bracco and a pick for a bottom 4 dman is ridiculous

Hyman has a NTC, he won't waive.

That is a fair trade value, though I don't think at the moment the Isles need wingers

Hyman will likely have to be traded at some point and Mayfield would play in our top 4 also he has a great contract as well

I have tickets to 18 leaf games this season in 16 different cities. If they trade Hyman I will sell them.
Not really but we need that guy big time. Nobody is going. One day we will wake up to some ridiculous trade that the leafs do or some move that gets us enough cap space and we will all laugh.

That's a nice package going to NYI. I have not seen Mayfield play, but people are high on him. Would make our D Corp Stronger. But man Loosing Hyman and Bracco is a lot.

For sure we could, but this trade saves us cap space this year as well as it gives us a top 4 rhd on a great contract. Next offseason we won't be able to outbid other team's in FA for D help so we will likely have to make a trade at some point for an affordable d-man and I figured Hyman would be the most expendable. Don't get me wrong, I like Hyman too and understand he's a valuable member of our team (especially the pk) but I think somebody will have to go at some point and felt this trade makes sense for us. But hey, I'm totally fine with the team we have now.

In all fairness, this is the first time I've done it whereas he did it all the time.

I feel it should be Hyman for Mayfield straight up but as you said, we would have to use Mayfield in top4 role and I think he may bot be good enough for that role.

So I think Leafs decline, especially if its Hyman+

I'm not as high on Mayfield as some people may be. As for Human's future as a Leaf...well if he's not traded during the season, then he will be gone in off-season.
I think he's a very important player for the Leafs but he will soon be a cap causality. Dubas is going to have to find a way to add a UFA D and probably run with kids on the 3rd pairing.

When you take these into consideration, then more just Hyman being traded is a real possibility.

I hear ya, but he has a great contract and we would have to pay for that, also I think he's in a similar boat to Dermott where he's top 4 capable but hasn't gotten the chance. Nonetheless, it wouldn't happen but this trade saves us some cap space while helping our rhd situation.

From cap perspective I hear you, I like @palhal idea of either futures only for Hyman if cap is what you want OR say pool party and brind'amour for him.

DeMelo is my dream for next year.
