An outside look of WPG line-up - am I far off

Description
Capitals is my team, but what fun is it to be interested in the league if you don't have a decent idea of your opponents?

This is my outside look for the Jets line-up. Is it reasonable or do you - fans of the team - see other likely line combinations or pairings at defense? Who's got that special chemistry with another players etc.

Fitting both Connor and Laine under the cap seems problematic. I really can't see 15 million dollars being enough for the duo. As of now, I feel Connor would have the upper hand of longer term while Laine should have to prove himself. Your thoughts?

Some other points of interest:
- Will Little be the second-line center or can Roslovic or Copp be fitted into that position?
- Regarding cap space, I see Kulikov and Little as the prime candidates out of town, but will that be possible? From the outside, I can't see many teams looking at those contracts with much interest.
- In my series of line-up predictions, I have usually gone with at least 23 roster players, but I only have 22 for the Jets. With the AHL team in the same building, I figure it will be easier to move players between the teams, when needed. (It will also depend of what the GM is able to do as a cap dump)

We haven't see many posts with those one year contracts. Supposedly teams and the players don't like it. But it's a lot better than no deal at all.
Agree with you that Little and Kulikov are difficult trades. Who has the cap to take them? And Little's term is daunting, not his current play on the ice, but the long term.

Sorry, in the description, I should have added that I only listed them as 1 year contracts for the purpose of predicting the roster. I assume there will be at least one bridge and long-term deal, if not two long-term deals (if you can shed some cap space).

IMO for the lineup it’s gonna look something like:

Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler
Laine-Little-Ehlers
Vesalainen-Copp-Roslovic
Perreault-Lowry-Copp

JoMo-Pionk
Niku-Buff
Beaulieu- Kulikov

Scratches:
Letestu
Poolman (he can easily slot in for beaulieu or

As much as I’d like to see wheeler and scheifele split up, and copp or roslovic at 2c. I can’t see Maurice doing it. He’s so set in his ways of keeping scheifele and wheeler together and for some reason he has an obsession with little playing with laine even though it doesn’t work.

This is the lineup I’d want to see:

Connor-Scheifele-Laine
Ehlers-Copp-Wheeler
Vesalainen-Little-Roslovic
Perreault-Lowry-Appleton

JoMo-Pionk
Niku-Buff
Poolman-Kulikov

I figure Morrissey and Byfuglien will anchor one pairing each, so Niku on LD1 and Beaulieu on third pair?
To me, if you call Morrissey/X or X/Byfuglien the first or second pairing doesn't make much difference. Though it will be Morrissey's blueline in the long run...
