Is Honka a longer term answer

Created by: swinny
Team: 2019-20 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 15, 2019
Published: Sep. 15, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Asuming Hyman and Dermott spend dome time on the LTIR......

Move means a top of of Reilly, Dermott, Honka (and most likely), Liligren and Sandin for 2020-21.

Does that work???? Debate.

Honka is good, but he is basically what Petan is but defenseman. I like him but I dont see him as more than 3rd pairing guy and thats place at least this year for Liljegren to develop in. I dont see that this year.. Edmonton might like him but they have similar player (better defensively) in Ethan Bear. Honka needs to go to Anaheim imo.

If Honda is an NHLer (he appears to be ), Stars aren't trading an NHLer for so little return. If he just an iffy NHLer...Leafs have plenty of those.

I second the suggestion of Anaheim. That would give Honka a great opportunity.

Anaheim just need defenseman in general imo lol. Pretty thin after the top 3. Even the Leafs look better lol

Stars and leafs fan here. If I'm the leafs i want nothing to do with him. He isnt a nhler and I don't see him ever being one. Also if he was going to sign for 950k he would be signed already.

Dallas has a few decisions to make with Johns ready to get back into the lineup. They also have one D too many if Johns really is back...plus because of his salary, Dallas is over the cap? No?

If these things are true, then trading Honka for a pick makes sense but he won't be the only one getting traded.
