I don't understand. You say "stop clinging to the core" then don't trade away any of the Kings core players.

Kopitar and Doughty won't be traded ever.

I had a trade involving brown (To detroit involving Nielsen but I didn't think the value was right/the trade would work) Kovalchuk is immovable. Lewis should stay

isles top 4 right now is pelech-pulock, toews-mayfield, but Noah Dobson is going to make the team so I would include mayfield. I feel like the kings would want picks or prospects for toffoli

LA should definitely consider moving Kopitar when his NMC ends at the end of the year. I would say the same for Doughty but that's many years away. He could fetch a very nice package that they could build around. They would benefit from unloading a few of their valuable vets (such as Kopitar) and building for the future. Their team just isn't good enough to make any serious impact right now. (granted they could prove me wrong... but so could Ottawa...)

Just because they are paid the most and have seniority doesn't make them" core" players. In a cap league the more appropriate definition is "anchor"
