Created by: Shakabakes
Team: 2019-20 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 16, 2019
Published: Sep. 16, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Neither Namestnikov or Lindgren has a place on this team going forward. Take advantage of the Ducks Cap Space after losing Kesler and Reaves.

Rangers get Cap Space and a 3rd. Ducks get a versatile Forward and a cost controlled Defenseman who could find a spot away from the Rangers jam packed Defensive Prospects group.

Considering you half assed the research. Kesler has been done since last season and it's Eaves not Reaves. Neither one of those players would have a spot on the Ducks.

"Taking advantage of the Ducks cap space"

Thats something the Ducks can do, not the rangers, the Ducks can leverage the rangers lack of cap space and pay a lot less than a third in a deal they have no need to do

Misspelled a name. Don't be petty.

You got Korbinian Holzer and Michael Del Zotto on Defense, as well as Forward spots up for grabs. I would think there was a possibility of them making the roster.

Good point. Thought it was relatively fair by including Lindgren.

i think the ducks would do this, could very easily flip Namesk for at least a 3rd if they retain some salary so thats a win-win imo. Lindgren could def compete for a bottom pairing role as well

What forward spots? Between Jones, Comtois, Steel, Terry, and Sherwood all forward positions will be taken by younger players.

I don't know much about lindgren but I know we have an overwhelming amount of LD. Holzer will probably be down in the AHL and Del Zotto may or may not be a 7th D. Between Larsson, Guhle, Mahura, and Hakanpaa they will have those spots filled.

This trade isn't anything that Anaheim needs.

The Ducks have Lindholm, Fowler, Guhle, Larsson, Mahura on LD plus Jackson Lacombe yet to be signed, so Ryan Lindgren, as decent a prospect as he may be, isn't someone the Ducks need or want.

In addition to the five young players listed by @awatt , Anaheim has Ryan Getzlaf (still one of the premier passers in the NHL), Jacob Silfverberg (still one of the premier two-way forwards in the NHL), Rickard Rakell, Adam Henrique and a recovering Ondrej Kase, in addition to Daniel Sprong and Nick Ritchie. That leaves room for three forwards at best. Namestnikov might replace DesLauriers or Carter Rowney or Derek Grant, but why make the effort of a lateral move?
