I'd say these are fair because of the short term, but whether Laine and his agent think the same may be a different story.

Boeser was Connor's best comparable. Realistically I think Connor should get about 250k less on the same term, but Connor has wanted longer term from the start. 7 years, 50M is still what I think he is worth.

I think Connor will (and should) get a deal similar to Boeser and Meier, so 3-4 years at no more than 6 mil AAV. Laine is much harder to predict, his last year wasn't great, so the Jets could believe they can get him on a short "prove it" contract, but his full body of work (110 goals already in his career) warrants a bigger contract

Laine and Connor are going to get similar contracts. Connor would get mad because he performed better than Laine last season

Laine shouldnt get higher than 6.5 on a three year deal based on Boeser. If will get 7-7.5 on a 7 or 8 year deal

I don't see how Connor accepts less than Ehlers who he outperformed through their ELCs.

Well most nhl teams don’t dish out 11.643m for a player who has accomplished nothing.... 0 mvps 0 rockets 0 top 10 in points. 0 playoff series won... you get the point.... MaRnEr WoNt GeT mOrE tHaN 9M

Those numbers only matter if they improve year after year. Right?

Ehlers isn't his comparable anymore, its guys in the same tier that signed this year, like Meier and Boeser.

BS. He out produced a guy who is comparable but worse on his team who signed a contract w couple years ago. It's a perfect comparison. This isn't a winger to a C to a defenseman or something.

Ehlers was 6x6, so no they are not comparable at all. a 3 year bridge will obviously have a lower AAV than a long term deal

We don't have year after year data. We have 3 years which are essentially 2.5 years of ALL TIME GREAT goal scoring and 1/2 a year of eh goal scoring.

I don't know what to do with it either but acting like the Boeser contract really changes the situation is kidding ourselves.

My outlook is the only thing to do is give him a short bridge, like 7 mil *2 years. Let him prove which player is the real deal.

If he's this generations Ovi, then he'll get his money in two years.

If he's this generations Jimmy Carson then he'll show himself and get paid as such then.

Laine should gladly take 7.5-8x2-3year

I can see Connor getting around 50M on a 7 year contract, Laine will get a three year bridge with a 8-9M salary in year 3 for the qualifying offer,...so a 3 year/20M contract(6-6-8)
