Why would Ottawa do that? They don't need any more 3rd line centers.

Brodie was hardly the problem, we dominated in shots and control all game, with a 2-0 lead then gave up 3 unanswered goals, Brodies was from 3v3 where it can go either way, monahan missed an open net right before. Just how preseason be, people get rusty over summer

Looked like a rough game for Talbot .

Anyways last year I went to the first preseason game of the year against the Oil and Rittich was absolutely terrible, remember all us Flames fans were like “uh oh” all preseason regarding the backup situation. We were totally wrong haha

First game of the year lots of rust band to be honest most vets don’t care about exhibition games

Zaitsev is there for the next half decade, Lassi Thomson will rise quick in that system, what makes a UFA like DeMelo ever want to re sign and remain a 3 RD on a bad team? He will walk at the end of the season, Ottawa should be looking for cheap RFA’s under control because they don’t have the means to hold out or walk away. Jankowski is a big body that likely belongs in the wing with a C that can drive play, he is good for a second PK unit and really improved his defensive game. A solid middle six winger

I get people get rusty but that was far far too familiar, puck watching, allowing a turnover in a crucial area of the ice, kids are taught from peewee, don’t lose battles or pucks at either blue line, Brodie missed that day of practice and then looking lost in an odd man rush. As I said though, extreme knee jerk reaction, Brodie will likely remain on the roster and will have in reality a really solid season that is highlighted by glaring mistakes because they always seem to come at the worst time

Absolutely, goaltending was a nightmare in the pre season, if is what it is, I always compare them to pitchers in spring training, just takes them a little longer to get in tune.

They came out firing in the first got their work in and then went through the motions for a period and a half, it’s exactly what’s expected from pre season, as I said, knee jerk reaction and clearly a major over reaction because I missed hockey!
