Yes. I was surprised they took him 9th overall, and I still think that was a bit too high, but he's a good prospect. Probably a career 2nd liner but could be a top liner if everything goes well for him.

Just curious. With all the Panarin/Kakko/Trouba/Fox hype, I didn't know if people outside the NYR fanbase were really aware of him. Good to know he's known outside of NY!

Yeah. I just personally don't see him as highly as Rangers fans do. I think he'll be a solid 2nd line guy, and could build some chemistry with Panarin, but I don't think he'll ever be a star.

He could very well be a great player, but he's not a guy who will make players around him better the same way guys like Zibanejad, Kakko and Panarin can.

I'd love to be wrong though.

People are definitely sleeping on him.. he was on such a bad team in the KHL and his contribution percentage was on par with several top players in the NHL...
a great article to read up on this:
https://www.blueshirtbanter.com/2019/3/18/18269630/nhl-new-york-rangers-prospects-breaking-down-vitali-kravtsovs-post-draft-season

Right now his floor is a high end second liner or a low end 1st liner, but has a ceiling of an elite player. His vision is insane.

I think Kravtsov is the same situation as Kotkaniemi. Both were drafted higher than expected so there's isn't a lot of expectation for them. It's probably going to be the same for Seider and Hayton.
As for the other Blueshirts.....
- Panarin and Trouba have already established themselves as top tier players.
- Kakko is obviously a highly regarded prospect with the same hype as Laine. I think he broke Barkov's rookie record in the Liiga.
- Fox was a finalist of the Hobey Baker Award.
