So it'a a bad trade for whom? I'm confused.....by the way, this trade is very fair....if, you were simply making this trade based on draft spots, Carolina wins...the 2 players were the 12th and 13th pick, which by draft positioning is worth 988 points, while the 2nd overall pick is worth 871 points, and a mid 3rd is somewhere around 160 points...In this scenario Carolina would have to throw in a 7th rounder for it to be even. However Carolina is throwing in TOR 1st rounder, which should be very late...worth somewhere around 280 points. You can't really put a point total on Poolman because he's probably better than his draft pick, but let's do it anyway...127th pick is worth 85 points...So, Carolina is giving the Jets 152 points in this trade....or the value of a late 3rd rounder for exchanging potential value for real world value. Necas and Bean are top 50 NHL prospects...but Laine has scored 110 goals and 184 points in 237 games and is the same draft class and age as Bean and an NHL ready Dman (granted probably a bottom pairing), but still a reliable and very usable guy. See guys, this is how trades are made...this is how GM's thinks....The Jets aren't going to give Laine away as someone suggested....thats nuts....
