Description

1st Line is great, don't touch it.

Hughes and Gusev seem to be making quick chemistry with each other, and throwing Zacha on wing there with two legitimate playmakers might finally make him use his shot more. Also is the defensive babysitter for the inevitable turnovers of his line mates.

The Jespers circling around the offensive zone together could be fun with Zajac doing net front for them or being the defensively responsible one.

That fourth line seems mean and annoying, insanely overpaid for what they bring but will punch you in the mouth.

Unfortunately on D, don't see any way Smith can make the team with those contracts. Hes in a weird spot being too good for the WHL but not good enough for the NHL yet.

Greene was one of the most reliable defensive D-man for the Devils last year and played close to 21 mins a night. It is sad to say but, as a Devils fan, I trust Greene the most at even strength; he doesn't bring much offense anymore but I don't worry about him making bad turnover or being out of position.

The Devils game Smith 23 mins the first game, so he is getting his chance. I think the Devils carry 8 D-men out of the gate; with Carrick and Smith as scratches, and also with the hope that Vatanen rebounds somewhat to increase his trade value before moving him early in the season.

Yeah, but at this point I have given up prediciting lines with all the combinations the Devils have. In spite of my name, Shero has done a great job of getting talented players thoughout the line-up.
