Unfortunately because of the screwed state of the UFA market, Hall will ask at minimum the contract Panarin got.

I think it’s a fair contract imo. I could see him demanding more, state tax or not, because of Panarins figure. Dallas can afford another 1 mil on his deal, but it just means Faksa has to be moved

Leaves Dallas with roughly $15M (after cap increase), the following offseason, to sign Heiskanen, Moore, & Dickinson while also adding 1 forward and 2 defenseman to the roster. That's extremely tight, even if they call up prospects with minimal cap hits

They can make it work. Cap hit goes up and Radulov/Pavelski deals come off when Klingberg and Hintz need new deals

I accounted for the cap increase. Without the cap increase, they have just $12M in cap space. I accounted for $15M in cap space (which is a larger increase than we saw this offseason).

And they would be fine for Klingberg and Hintz, but I'm not talking about them. Heiskanen has a contract due a season BEFORE both of them. The biggest contract coming off the books next offseason is Stephen Johns' $2.35M. Assuming the sign ONLY Heiskanen, the Stars are losing 6 roster players. If you use Chabot's 8x8 as a focal point, that leaves the Stars with $7M to fill 6 roster spots.

You are essentially left to fill the lineup with ONLY prospects, because you won't be able to afford anything else. It's a massive gamble to assume that the Stars will have 2 or 3 prospects that can be ready for full-time spots next season; and you want to assume that 6 are going to be NHL ready. I just don't see that as a reasonable goal at all.

The Stars have the cap space to add this season, but they don't have the space to add a massive superstar-like player like Taylor Hall.

All they really need to do is trade Faksa and they have room to fill out the roster + Dickinson and Dellandrea jump up to the 3rd line
