That is a incredibly bad trade for the sharks. Maybe Dahlén Chek and Dillon is “worth it” but losing a first, 2 prospects (one of the those prospects is expected to be top 6 by SJ management we don’t know if he will be but that’s their hope) and a NHL defender is a lot to give up for a prospect. I understand how good he is but that’s a package you would move for a proven NHL player of quality. Not saying Hayton isn’t quality cause he is and he’s really good, but we don’t know what the future holds for him.

To clarify, not saying your trade is bad or it’s a bad idea but the sharks wouldn’t move that I’d expect, if it wasn’t a first than I’d feel better about it but eeeh

how about if we lose like first round pick and/or chekhovich or get maybe two second round picks?

I understand Dell and Melker being dealt for cap spacing reasons, however, Dillon is pretty needed as he would probably be an anchor for Heed.

Also, Dell, Melker, and Dillon will have contracts that expire after this season so I think they are all fighting for renewed/bigger contracts. That or they leave for free agency.
