Man if Goat ever got a mean streak and/or some finish he could be a good bottom 6er for this team. Serious respect to him for continuing to improve year in and out despite being written off though.

It's going to be tough to get playing time with the coaching staff (well..head coach anyway) knowing what he is.
The new guys brought in will and probably should get more chances to show what they can do.

Gauthier will have to be at his very best when he gets his chances.

Based off of last night??? Kappy had one good chance and buried it. The Goat had like 5 chances and didn't score. Can't see why the Goat would get a promotion from the 4th line based off that and you drop Kappy down.

Gauthier created his scoring chances, marner created kapanens... Gauthier was more noticeable on the ice he looked like he added a bit of speed to his game

Maybe ONeil had a point when he said in the post game show that the Goat might make a good 4lw where just goes to the net and waits for Spezza to bounce pucks off him.

I don't mind the Goat, and he did look better last night in a preseason game.. but man, we just finished 1 drama with Mitch signing and we're already starting a new drama with how Spezza might not make the team.

And it all comes from Babcocks comments on how goat the Goat was and how he'll be watching Spezza to see if he can handle the job. Wtf!?

He did look ok last night. And, yup, if he just played with some anger it'd go a long way.

I don't have much hope for his finishing ability at this point. But he is 6 ft 5 all day and could probably just skate through guys and goalies if he was a bit meaner.. He wouldn't even need to dangle or shoot. Just skate right through them..
